Run to the Roar!

Run to the Roar” is an African proverb that challenges us to confront our fears head-on because running away from fear often leads us directly into danger. This proverb is rooted in a hunting technique found among lions in which the oldest and most feeble lion in the pack hides in the grass and surprises unsuspecting prey by roaring loudly. This causes the prey to panic and run away from the sound, directly into the pack’s strongest lions who were waiting to ambush the prey from the opposite direction.

In many ways, facing the threat of hereditary cancer feels exactly like standing on that savanna, listening to a distant, terrifying roar. We must override our powerful instinct to run away. Safety is not found in avoidance; it is found in moving forward, equipped with the best information, guidelines, and strategies for managing both our cancer risks and our mental well-being. By being proactive, we are not running into cancer; we are running toward PREVENTION!

To help you on this path, Families Fighting Hereditary Cancer has partnered with the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center to bring you a critical hour of education and empowerment. Please join us for:
