Prevention is better than a cure! Join Families Fighting Hereditary Cancer and the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center for a FREE, informative and fun forum designed to empower you to fight cancer through proactive prevention strategies.

FEATURED SESSIONS

  • Previvor “Thriver” Stories: Hear personal, empowering testimonies from FFHC co-founders Sheila Adams Gardner, Patricia Cifax, and Jacinta Tatum on thriving while managing an elevated risk of cancer.

  • Building a proactive healthcare team: Dr. M. Faizan Ali, Primary Care Physician, Hospitalist and Hereditary Cancer Specialist at Froedert Hospital will discuss how genetics impact your risk and practical strategies for patients to best form a collaborative, proactive healthcare team with your primary physician.

  • Managing screening anxiety:  An interactive session to gain concrete tools for managing the emotional stress of cancer screenings and prophylactic treatment led by Dr. Lyndsey Wallace, Board-Certified Clinical Health Psychologist and Associate Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

  • Healthy cooking live demonstration: Enjoy a live cooking demonstration focused on clean, plant-based nutrition with chef and cancer survivor Amberlea Childs of Plant Joy Deli.

  • Line dancing for fitness: Participate in an invigorating line dancing session led by nurse and cancer survivor Angela Scott of Get Dance Waisted.
